Keith E. Rouch, P.E., professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Mechanical Engineering, is retiring at the end of the semester. Rouch has been a professor at UK for the past 33 years, and served as department chair for 12 years.
Jim McDonough, professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Mechanical Engineering, is retiring at the end of the fall semester. McDonough has taught at UK since 1990 and enjoyed a 50-year career in academia and industry.
Three recent NASA EPSCoR proposals have been selected for $100,000 awards. All of these projects are managed under the NASA Kentucky programs.
Four of the positions are tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level, although exceptional candidates at the associate professor level or higher will also be considered.
Kunlei Liu, associate director for research at CAER and associate professor of mechanical engineering, will be a co-principal investigator on this project.

Past program participants have been invited to present their research at conferences, been awarded competitive grants and others have secured publications in leading journals.
Alumnus L. Berkley Davis Jr., who retired in 2016, currently holds 101 patents. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2006, the UK College of Engineering’s Hall of Distinction in 2007, the UK Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 2015.
Since 2002, UK has been at the forefront of using unmanned aerial systems for research. Suzanne Smith, director the UK Unmanned Systems Research Consortium, is leading the way.
Coordinated by UK President Capilouto, director Fara Williams and co-PI and UK College of Engineering Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Johné Parker, UK has led the KY-WV LSAMP program since it was created in 2006.
